It’s been a nightmare couple of weeks for Tottenham fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern, not to mention their manager Tim Sherwood.
Sherwood has been forced to learn how cruel football management can be, and learn fast.
The 4-0 defeat to Chelsea a fortnight ago saw Sherwood come out and publicly criticize his players, and then had to sit back and watch as Benfica and Arsenal turned up at White Hart Lane and both left with victories.
Last night’s 2-2 draw in the return leg of the Benfica tie salvaged pride if anything, but there are some Spurs fans who are already looking ahead to next season.
The Champions League places look beyond their reach now, and the club are set for a summer of rebuilding after the majority of the major signings bought in for this season have flopped.
Sherwood insists he will be the man to do the rebuilding job, despite constant speculation linking the likes of Louis Van Gaal, Cesar Prandelli and Gerardo Martino with the manager’s position.
Assuming Sherwood is in charge for the opening day of next season, and Daniel Levy doesn’t get too trigger happy again, we take a look at five players who may be on his transfer wishlist.
Click on White Hart Lane to reveal what we believe is quite simply…Tim Sherwood’s Tottenham summer transfer wishlist.
