Alex Ferguson is already casting his glance over new Everton starlet Ross Barkley. Goal.com reports that Ferguson would be willing to offer £10m plus two squad players, believed to be two of Darren Gibson, Tomasz Kuszczak and Mame Biram Diouf.
David Moyes will see United’s interest as inevitable given 17-year-old Barkley’s great start to the season. The youngster made his u-21 debut in midweek, partnering Everton team mate Jack Rodwell in centre midfield.
However, that fact alone will confirm to Moyes that Everton’s future is promising enough without having to sell its key assets.
Barkey is for many Everton fans the main source of hope at the club at the moment, with most suggesting he is far more accomplished than even Wayne Rooney was at this stage. This despite missing an entire year last term out with injury.
With his characteristic eye for young talent, Ferguson will be hoping to secure the youngster before he firmly establishes himself at Goodison Park. Moyes will be hoping to build his team around the youngster, rather than sell to buy. It is unlikely too that any of the players on off will interest the Everton boss.
