Jose Enrique is the man Fergie wants to replace the retired Garry Neville according to TutterMecatoWeb.
The Newcastle United star has always expressed his love of the club and the city but Champions League football may be too much of an incentive to turn down. Since joining the Magpies in 2007 he has been on the radar of a host of top clubs, a reflection of the defenders consistent form in the Premier League.
With a delightful left foot and a tough tackle to match Enrique has earned a reputation for being able to keep possession as well as pick out teammates anywhere on the pitch. Always calm on the ball he is the exact type of presence any defence needs.
He has plenty of top flight experience clocking up well over 100 games for Newcastle and would be a great buy for Man United as they look to fill the voids appearing in their back line. Newcastle beat off Man City and Liverpool when they bought him in 2007 but whether they will be able to do it again if Man United come calling is doubtful.

Enrique has been ever present once again this season with 24 starts pitching in with two assists so far this season. The Spaniard’s passing game would be a great asset to Man United and would fit in well with their style of play. Newcastle will not want to see their left back leave, however, and would put up a stern fight to keep him in Newcastle.
With such a capricious owner as Mike Ashley Ferguson will feel confident that a deal can be done with the boardroom simply superseding the manager if need be. Time will tell whether European competition is too tantalizing for Enrique or if Newcastle has got under his skin.
