The Daily Mail are reporting that new Saints boss Ronald Koeman is planning to spend a whopping £70 million on players this week as they plan to replace their recently departed stars.
And it is the Manchester United fringe players that Koeman is keeping a particular eye on as he looks to rebuild his dilapidated squad.
According to reports, Manchester United’s Mexican striker Javier Hernandez is on the Dutchman’s list of potential signings over the next week as is either Wilfried Zaha or Ashley Young.
However, the Saints will need to move fast if they are to land Zaha with former club Crystal Palace, West London outfit Queens Park Rangers and Sam Allardyce’s West Ham United all interested in the once-capped England player.
Koeman has also targeted Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar and Celtic duo Virgil van Dijk and Fraser Forster.
But it will not be as easy as it sounds for Southampton as teams will hold out for large transfer fees knowing how much the Saints have at their disposal.
Southampton fans. That is quite a transfer wish list Koeman has created. Do you agree with his targets or are there other players you should be approaching? Let us know your thoughts below.
