Tottenham Hotspur are keen to add to their side this summer, with the idea of pace at their forefront and fans in the Transfer Tavern will be keen for the club to make a number of additions happen.
Mauricio Pochettino wants to add depth to his side as he looks to ensure they are competitive across all the competitions they are involved with, as he looks to end the 10-year drought Spurs have found themselves in since they last won a trophy.
According to a report by the Daily Mail (included in their Transfer Centre LIVE at 12.59pm yesterday), the Argentine is keen on signing Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen, however, it is believed the winger has been asked to stay with the German outfit for at least another season.
Spurs were one of the teams to be shown a strong interest in the Jamaica-born forward but it is believed the £60million plus fee the Bundesliga side would have demanded would have been too pricey of a deal for the White Hart Lane outfit to consider.
There is no denying the talent and pace Bailey processes, having become a target for a number of clubs in the Premier League and across Europe and would certainly add some terrifying pace up top for Spurs if he were to join them.
However, the locals in the Tavern will know Daniel Levy will not spend audacious amounts of money to try and bring in new targets and Tottenham will probably turn their attention elsewhere.
