Slaven Bilic should move for this £13.6m-rated midfielder to drive West Ham forward next season

It’s been a season of frustration in the main for West Ham United, who have seen inconsistent performances and a whole host of injuries plague their campaign.

Manager Slaven Bilic is in some fans’ eyes lucky to still be in a job, but the Croat will be as determined as anyone next season to improve and get West Ham challenging higher up the league table.

Our landlord spends a fair bit of time at the bar chatting to the Hammers fans, and things have been no different this week, with plenty of chatter around who the club should be looking to sign this summer.

One name mentioned by our landlord which got the tongues wagging was Schalke midfielder Max Meyer, who is valued at £13.6m by website Transfermarkt.

The 21-year-old German looks to be one of Europe’s most exciting attacking midfield talents, and his ability to play across a whole host of different positions is something which should interest the Hammers.

His goalscoring exploits haven’t quite hit the mark this season as he would have like, but there is still little doubting his talent and the threat that he poses across the midfield.

Meyer could well be the sort of signing West Ham need to enhance their chances of European football, and he would certainly be a major coup for the club.

Hammers fans, what do you think? Is Meyer the sort of player you need? Let us know in the comments!
