The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting more and more frustrated as the club are continually linked to dross strikers. This time around, according to Dutch outlet AD and via The Chronicle, the club could be looking at Danish flop, Nicolai Jorgensen.
#NUFC can now sign Nicolai Jorgensen for less than the €18M offered in January, due to the poor world cup showing from the player and his lack of goals after January. Feynoord getting that €18m again is ‘unfeasible’. [AD]

Newcastle fans have had some shockers under Mike Ashley. Islam Slimani, Seydou Doumbia, Nile Rangers, Luuk De Jong and Emmanuel Riviere are just a handful of names that will have our local Magpies flinching. Since Ashley took over a lot of the club’s money spent on strikers may as well have gone in the shredder. However, the fans trust Rafa Benitez and if Jorgensen is the man who he wants then the fans will get behind him at St James Park.
The Geordies could sign Nicolai Jorgensen for a cut-price after his shocking World Cup display and whilst the fans might be against it, getting a big chunk of money off of a player is right up Mike Ashley’s street. The striker has been in alright form at club level, having bagged 13 goals for Feyenoord last season. However, the Magpies will be unsure of Jorgensen if he does sign given his three games in Russia and his cheaper deal. it will take a big character to stand up against the odds and be counted, and it’s yet to be seen if Jorgensen has that character.
You can read our resident Magpies’ verdict on Jorgensen here:
AWESOME! Let's sign a striker that had a 'poor World Cup' and lacks goals.

I wouldn’t even have him for £1.8m

As you can see, the Newcastle fans in the Tavern aren’t exactly keen on signing Jorgensen this summer.
