Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up with interest at the claim from The Sport Review that Slovakian international Juraj Kucka is welcoming the links with the Anfield club.
The player is currently under contract at Serie A side Genoa and has been impressive this season and has made 76 appearances for the club since joining in 2011 scoring five goals in the process. After being asked about the links to Brendan Rodgers’ side, he claimed that: “It’s good news. I have read it on the Internet.”
“I have not called my compatriot Martin Skrtel and have no plans to do so. I prefer to keep my feet on the ground.
“I am a Genoa player, so I have to think that I’ll play in Genoa the next season.
“But I can imagine what it would mean to wear the Liverpool shirt.”
Rodgers is currently looking for players who will improve his side for his second season in charge at Anfield and is also trying to replace Jamie Carragher who of course has retired from football. The Northern Irishman wants to get top class players into the club and push for a European place next season.
