Unai Emery will likely be looking back on Arsenal's first few games of the season with mixed emotions. He's won a couple of games, but he's also been unable to stand up to his biggest rivals in the Premier League. Alas, it's been a mixed bag thus far, but the Spaniard will be expected to turn it around over the coming weeks.

In truth, the international break probably came at a good time for Arsenal. The break has likely given Emery time to reflect upon the season so far as he looks to take his team to the next level.

He'll likely be looking to make a couple of minor adjustments to help take his team to the next level, and one change that would undoubtedly have a huge impact at the Emirates would be giving a chance to Stephan Lichsteiner.

Lichsteiner is yet to make a single start in the Premier League, and it's hard to see why. A right-sided defender by trade, Lichsteiner is battling with Hector Bellerin for a starting berth at present, and it's fair to say that the Spaniard has been poor this term. He's lacked the defensive quality to help solidify the Arsenal defence, and that is where Lichsteiner could come in.

The Swiss defender has years of experience behind him in which he's been one of Europe's most consistent players. Having spent years at Juventus, he's played in a number of big fixtures and added real solidity to the Italian giant's defence. Bellerin, meanwhile, has been far more focused on moving forward, and that's a problem.

Particularly against big teams like Chelsea and Man City, Arsenal struggled defensively, and that's an issue. Bellerin's development has stalled, and he's really not in a good run of form. Adding Lichsteeiner, then, could help to tighten things up in the short-term, at least.

Perhaps, then, Bellerin could move forward into more of an attacking berth, giving Arsenal's lack of quality right-sided options. One thing is certain; their defence would be vastly improved with the addition of Lichsteiner.
