Watford will be looking to maintain their 100 percent Premier League record when they take on Manchester United at Vicarage Road tomorrow.
The Hornets sit in third place level on points (12) with Chelsea and Liverpool following victories against Brighton, Burnley, Crystal Palace and most recently Tottenham.
The job Javi Gracia has done so far has been brilliant with the midfield he has deployed, in particular, being key behind the club’s amazing start to the new campaign.
Will Hughes, Etienne Capoue and Abdoulaye Doucoure have all made their presence felt on the pitch, while Roberto Pereyra has simply been on another level.
In this moment of time, there are not many midfielders better than the Argentinian.
That being said, be it now or in the near future, Gracia should consider making room in the team for the returning Nathaniel Chalobah.
Chalobah missed the majority of last season through injury, but is close to returning to full fitness.
Chalobah played almost the entire 90 minutes of Watford’s 2-0 win against Reading in the Carabao Cup at the Madejski Stadium towards the end of last month before making a cameo versus Tottenham, and the 23-year-old will now be hoping for more starts in the first team.
Given how the team are currently performing, though, Gracia is unlikely to make any big changes to the starting XI until when it is necessary, but Chalobah is a player the Spaniard would be wise to have in his thinking for Watford’s upcoming fixtures.
The former Chelsea man is a midfielder who is both capable of winning the ball back in the middle of the park and distributing it efficiently to get his side on the front foot.
In these opening Premier League fixtures, Watford’s midfield has worked tirelessly. Therefore, Gracia must eventually consider using Chalobah to avoid a burnout and maintain the club’s excellent early-season form.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
