The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were very excited when Chelsea signed Tiemoue Bakayoko…
The former Monaco midfielder had a wonderful campaign in his native France last season. He anchored the midfielder in fine fashion, earning a reputation for his brutish, relentless playstyle.
Coming to London with a gleaming reputation, he was expected to make an instant impact at Stamford Bridge, but injuries have meant that he has been unable to do so as of yet. Yet to feature in a blue shirt, the Chelsea fans in the pub have been eagerly waiting for the chance to see him.
That opportunity could come as soon as this weekend, with Antonio Conte finally delivering the news update that so many fans have been waiting for. As confirmed by the Italian during Chelsea’s pre-match press conference, Bakayoko could be in contention to feature against the Lilywhites this weekend.
Conte adds that Bakayoko is not at the top of his fitness but could be available for Sunday's game. #CFC

His return would be a huge boost for the Blues, given that N’Golo Kante is their only other fit midfielder at present.
Though it remains unclear as to whether he will be fit to play from the start, the Chelsea fans on Twitter don’t mind – they’re too busy celebrating the mere prospect of him featuring for the Blues.
