Manchester United: Some fans convinced Mario Mandzukic will sign in January after Solskjaer comments

Manchester United have only scored nine goals so far this season, and fans’ patience with their front-line will be wearing thin. Since Romelu Lukaku left for Inter Milan, Marcus Rashford hasn’t been able to adapt to life as United’s main striker, and it’s been clear to see.

He has scored just three goals so far in the Premier League this season, and that tally hasn’t been good enough considering all his team-mates combined have only added six more to his total. United started the first game of the season with a starting 11 that had an average age of 24, the youngest of any of the other 19 Premier League teams on the opening weekend, so perhaps it is experience in front of goal they’re lacking.

Prior to United’s clash with Liverpool, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke to Gary Neville for Sky Sports and they discussed possible incomings in January. What he said gave fans the impression that Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic is on his way to Old Trafford. @utdreport on Twitter posted his comments, and some fans leaped into the replies to suggest the Croatian forward is on his way – though some were more positive than others.

You can see some of their reactions to the tweet below:

United fans, who do you think your side needs to sign in January to have a shot at finishing in the top four?
