Swansea City fans are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern discussing reports that two South Americans are the top contenders for the vacant managerial position at their club.
Wales Online is reporting that Gus Poyet is favourite to succeed Garry Monk as manager of the club, but that the Welsh side are also monitoring current Chile head coach Jorge Sampaoli, who is currently in dispute with the Chilean FA.
Poyet has previously managed in the Premier League having spent time in charge at Sunderland, but at present he is the current manager of Greek side AEK Athens. When questioned about links to the Swansea job, Poyet said:
“I don’t have any proposal from Swansea. So I don’t won’t to speak or answer about an if. There is nothing to talk about. I had made statements before. If something happens we will comment.”
The Swansea fans in The Transfer Tavern would love to see Sampaoli in charge at the club as he is someone they admire for his passion and commitment.
