Southampton accept star-man will leave soon

maneeeeeSouthampton boss Ronald Koeman has placed some worried looks on the faces of the Southampton fans in the Transfer Tavern by claiming that it would be difficult to keep hold of star player Sadio Mane.

The 23 year old has excelled in the Premier League this season and was in electrifying form as The Saints beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and has scored four goals in three games.

Manchester United were linked with the midfielder during the summer and if he carries on the kind of form more clubs will be keen on the Senegal international. Koeman is quoted in the Southern Daily Echo saying:

“Ok, maybe one day we will lose Mane but then we have to be prepared.”

“You know in our situation that kind of players if they play like today there will come a lot of interest in the end of the season, but now we enjoy watching Mane in our team.”

Southampton have seen many of their star players leave the club over the past few years including Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Luke Shaw but they have prospered and under Koeman’s leadership and currently sit in ninth position in the league.

Mane is turning into a firm favorite among the fans since joining the club in 2014 from Red Bull Salzburg and it is testament to his success that he is being courted by so called bigger clubs.
