Despite being one of the Celtic’s star names, it is rumoured that the Scottish champions are willing to listen to offers in the region of £10 million for Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama this summer, according to Sky Sports.
This has alerted both Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay and Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino, who are keen to bring the 21-year-old to the Premier League.
The duo both have plenty to spend this summer, with the Saints having already displayed their financial power with an £8.5 million move for Lyon’s Dejan Lovren already sealed.
Meanwhile, the Bluebirds are said to be prepared to spend big as they look to guarantee top tier safety.
But, the pair may face competition from the likes of Liverpool, Stoke City and Newcastle United who are all said to be monitoring the youngster.
Wanyama has enjoyed two successful seasons in Glasgow since arriving in a modest £500,000 deal from Belgian side Beerschot.
Perhaps the enforcer’s most memorable moment in a green and white shirt came last season when he netted during Celtic’s historic Champions League win over Barcelona.
Wanyama himself is said to be happy at Celtic Park, but may find it difficult to turn down a switch to the Premier League.
Where will Wanyama end up this summer? Surely it would be a coup if Cardiff or Southampton could lure him? Let us know your thoughts below.
