Southampton confirm Angus Gunn signs on five-year deal

Southampton have been busy in the transfer market over the last couple of weeks and it appears the club has no interest in slowing down their charge.

The club have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Angus Gunn from Manchester City, however, a fee has not been disclosed.

The shot-stopper has joined the Saints on a five-year deal and is keen to enhance his reputation as one of the brightest young goalkeepers in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old, who has already trained with the senior England squad, showed how much of a talent he was with his performances for Norwich City in the Championship last season which led to a number of clubs being interested in him.

Mark Hughes has been busy making a number of additions this summer as Gunn joins Stuart Armstrong and Mohamed Elyounoussi as the latest players to make the switch to the south coast, however, more are expected to follow.

The Verdict:

The goalkeeper will immediately bolster the position in the Saints squad and would certainly help to improve their chances of being competitive in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old will be looking to prove to himself and everyone else how good he is and Southampton could be the perfect platform for the talented man to showcase his skills to onlookers.
