Southampton fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can avoid disappointment in the next campaign after just missing out on relegation to the Championship.
Indeed, the Saints have certainly improved since Mark Hughes took charge as they managed to avoid relegation and have already drafted in a couple of players. But, Southampton had to wave goodbye to one of their players recently, as according to Southampton’s official website, Guido Carrillo has joined CD Leganés on a year-long loan.
Southampton confirmed that Guido Carrillo has joined CD Leganés on a year-long loan.
The 27-year-old signed from AS Monaco for a club-record fee back in January, but he failed to impress during the second half of the season.
Therefore, the South American will link up with Mauricio Pellegrino again, after he took charge of the La Liga outfit this summer.
Interestingly, Guido Carrillo has joined up with former Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino over in Spain. The Italian manager was a complete failure at St Mary’s as he had the Saints staring relegation in the face before Mark Hughes took over.
Many of our local residents are delighted with the news as he may be able to discover some form.
