Southampton could sign Christoper Jullien for bargain fee

Southampton have been busy this summer turning their squad into a stronger unit and it appears they are looking to continue their business in the transfer window.

Mark Hughes is determined to ensure his team have a better start to the Premier League this season following last year’s poor campaign.

The Saints spent much of the year near the bottom half of the table and managed to retain their top-flight status with a just one game to go.

Hughes has already added the likes of Angus Gunn, Jannik Vestergaard, Stuart Armstrong and Mohamed Elyounoussi to his ranks, however, it appears he is looking at bringing another defender to the south coast.

It is understood that Toulouse’s centre-back Christopher Jullien is a target of the Saints this summer and he could be available for a bargain fee.

According to Robin Bairner, who is a journalist for Goal, he believes the talented defender could be bought for a fee as little as 10million euros.

The Verdict:

Jullien has attracted plenty of interest from a number of clubs for a while and Southampton could land a real coup if they sign him.

With the 25-year-old thought to be available for just 10m euros, it would be considered a steal for a player of his talent in this day and age of the transfer market.

It would not take much persuading to bring the Frenchman to the Premier League, however, the Saints will need to act quickly with the likes of Everton and Newcastle United also thought to hold an interest in him.
