Saido Mane has attracted a wealth of attention after his superb start to the Premier League season and United made a move over the summer, to the tune of around £20m.
Louis Van Gaal’s pursuit was unsuccessful but Mane’s fine form has led to suggestions that United will swoop again next year- but The Telegraph suggests the Red Devils would have to fork out around £40m for the Senegalese ace.
The 23-year-old joined Southampton last summer, in a £11.8m arrival from Red Bull Salzburg, and has shone himself to be one of the best forward players in the Premier League.
Manchester United are eying further attacking recruits next year, as they aim to ease the pressure on Anthony Martial’s shoulders with Wayne Rooney struggling to find domestic form; with question-marks as to whether he can continue to compete at the highest level.
Southampton punters watching the evening football have declared that their side shouldn’t sell for anything less than £40m but are praying that they somehow keep hold of the in-form forward.
