Southampton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern admit they have grown to hate the transfer window, as it so often sees them lose their star players.
The latest in a long line that includes the likes of Luke Shaw, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Morgan Schneiderlin could prove to be Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama, who is unhappy and unsettled on the south coast, according to the Daily Mail.
Former boss Mauricio Pochettino has been alerted to the news, and is hoping to lure the former Celtic midfielder to Tottenham before the close of the transfer window.
Wanyama has two years remaining on his £40,000 a week contract, and is valued at around £18 million.
However, the Saints are refusing to cash in on an unhappy player so close to the transfer window, having already lost a defensive midfielder in Schneiderlin this summer.
It now remains to be seen as to whether Wanyama will attempt to force through a move to White Hart Lane between now and the close of the transfer window.
Our resident Southampton supporting punters here in the Tavern would be absolutely gutted to lose Wanyama this summer, and feel there would be a colossal void if he departed St Marys.
