What a start to the transfer window it has been for Southampton.

The south coast club have already signed Moussa Djenepo from Standard Liege in a £15m deal. With 11 goals in all competitions last season for the Belgian side, the 21-year-old is the sort of squad addition that is likely to get supporters excited because who doesn't love an attacking signing?

And from Ralph Hasenhuttl's point of view, the Austrian sounds like he is hoping that Djenepo is not his last offensive reinforcement this summer.

"We want players who fit our philosophy: lots of speed, high pressing, game intelligence," Hasenhuttl was quoted as saying by Sport Bild (via Read Southampton). "It’s important that we get guys who can also defend ball-oriented.

"None of them should be older than 24 years. I have had good experiences with that at [RB] Leipzig. I’ve learned to develop young players and see that you can succeed with them."

From the above, it seems that the former RB Leipzig boss is not done in the transfer market yet. And if he ends up getting everything he wants, it could be exciting times at St. Mary's for Southampton supporters.

Even with a squad that has been battling against relegation since he took the reins, Hasenhuttl managed to deliver some very entertaining football and strong results, with the likes of Nathan Redmond and Yan Valery really flourishing under him.

Based on that, can you imagine what he could do with a few extra quality additions? The answer is probably a lot and the Southampton board must now make sure they give him just that before the Premier League kicks off again in August.
