St. Mary’s Stadium has been the home of some of Europe’s brightest talents over the years, and whilst many of them have moved elsewhere in the Premier League, there’s one player that is shining abroad.
Dusan Tadic, who left Southampton back in 2018, is currently turning out for Ajax, and he featured for the Dutch outfit as they took on Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
It’s fair to say that most were expecting Madrid to win the game, but somehow, Ajax managed to shock the world and finish on top, and Tadic played a crucial role. With 2 assists and 1 goal, he was the best player on the pitch by a mile.
He made use of the trickery that Southampton fans know all too well about to drift past players and create magic going forward, and he showed just why he was such a popular player on the south coast.
Unsurprisingly, his display didn’t go unnoticed amongst Saints fans, with many taking to Twitter to lavish him with praise. Many supporters are saying the same thing – what a brilliant player he was and, clearly, still is. Some would even love to have him back at the club.

I’m willing to admit that I was one of Tadic’s biggest critics when he was at St Mary’s – found him very frustrating because clear ability was stifled (certainly in the later years) by indecision – but now he looks and absolute world-beater and I miss him! #saintsfc

Can we sell Elyounoussi and buy back Tadic? For the same fees of course #saintsfc
