Southampton have bolstered both their midfield and attacking midfield options this transfer window with the additions of Stuart Armstrong and Mohamed Elyounoussi.
And now Mark Hughes is looking to improve his backline by bringing in a central defender and goalkeeper.
According to Sky Sports, Southampton have agreed a deal with Borussia Monchengladbach for Jannik Vestergaard, while BBC Sport reports the Saints are also closing in on Manchester City shot-stopper Angus Gunn.
Goalkeeper is one position Hughes will be desperate to strengthen after the worrying form of Fraser Forster, who could now be sold once a deal for £1.8m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Gunn is wrapped up.
Forster lost his place between the sticks in Southampton’s starting XI to Alex McCarthy with a string of dismal performances to blame, and the 30-year-old has not come anywhere near to regaining his spot since.
Gunn is now likely to replace the former Celtic No.1 at St. Mary’s and challenge McCarthy.
Take a look at what Southampton fans are saying on Gunn’s imminent arrival here…
This would be massive brilliant keeper

I’d be well happy with this one Forster #saintsfc

Great news – genuine competition for McCarthy, eye on the future and can get Forster’s wages off the books #saintsfc

Looks a good keeper. Would assume if he’s coming in Forster will go out somewhere. With harry Lewis coming back and rose getting a new deal we will be swamped with keepers

Shaping into a pretty good window so far…

gunn will give mccarthy a run for his money and vestergaard will force our 5 active center backs to fight for the starting role. Both good signings to keep the squad at their peak in training and on matchday and provide some quality in more than just the starting 11
