Many Southampton fans have given their reactions after Ralph Hasenhuttl announced that three attacking players will be unavailable for the club this weekend.
Saints face Manchester United at St. Mary’s on Saturday but will have to play without the attacking trio of Nathan Redmond, Moussa Djenepo and Michael Obafemi.
All three have managed to score a goal in the past week, with Redmond and Djenepo bagging versus Brighton in the league and Michael Obafemi scoring in the EFL Cup away at Fulham.
It is said that Redmond looks likely to miss two or three weeks with his injury, Djenepo is likely to just miss the game due to a ‘problem with his muscle’ and Obafemi suffered some cramp versus Fulham and it is ‘probably too much for him’ to play in tomorrow’s league match (via Southampton’s official Twitter account).
Despite the bad news, some Southampton fans are remaining optimistic. Many have tweeted saying that there are opportunities out there for other players due to these injuries – most notably Sofiane Boufal, who has recently told the club that he wants to stay and fight for his place this season.
Here are some of the responses below…

Big opportunity for Boufal to stake his claim in the team. Armstrong too.

True, Ralph will do the work to make them top of the game but still painful to miss them for the United match….. Speedy recovery guys! #SaintsFC

I never will understand why Managers tell their opponents who will be missing from the next match.
