Many Southampton fans have been talking about the latest update involving Mohammed Salisu which emerged on social media.
Ghana Soccer Net have recently issued a news update involving Salisu. They have reported that Salisu’s former club Real Valladolid are interested in re-signing the defender in January considering how he is yet to make his debut for the Saints.
It has been reported that Valladolid are currently monitoring Salisu’s situation and could consider signing the Ghana defender on loan later this month. The report also goes on to mention the fact that if Salisu opts to move from Southampton, clubs in the Premier League and Spain could be interested in roping him in and the 21-year-old may also like a move back to La Liga.
Does Salisu need a loan move?
Salisu had arrived at St. Mary’s from Valladolid in the summer transfer window for just £10.9 million. Since joining though, he has not made a single league appearance and has been on the bench six times in recent weeks. He wasn’t in the squad for their game against Liverpool.
Recently, the defender suffered an injury setback as Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed that he has suffered a muscle injury. The Saints manager has however described Salisu to be ‘the future‘ of the club: “Sali is the future at this club and this will take time. We know how long other players needed to step into the team and how long it takes.
“But he has so much potential and I think on Saturday it was important for me, as I said, to not bring him in because the team is not really settled and it would be too difficult I think.”
The update about Salisu’s situation was relayed on Twitter by Southampton Page and many Saints fans talked about the defender.
