Southampton: Fans unimpressed by James Ward-Prowse’s comments

Southampton are currently in real danger of getting relegated.
Do Southampton need to go down to properly rebuild?
Yes

No

It’s only early days, though with the club languishing in the bottom three after 11 games and being hammered 9-0 by Leicester just over a week ago, it’s not exactly unrealistic to envisage a return to the Championship.
The club faced a huge challenge this week when they took on reigning Premier League champions Manchester City twice away from home – once in the Carabao Cup and then in the league.
Despite losing both encounters, there were signs of improvement for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side, who even took the lead at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon.
They now need to carry that spirit into this weekend’s crunch fixture against Everton – who sit just three points and one space above them in the league table at this moment in time (BBC Sport).
It seems silly to say this early on, but this weekend’s clash at St. Mary’s really is a ‘six-pointer’ for the south coast outfit, and could well define the rest of their season.
Saints midfielder James Ward-Prowse has had his say on the importance of the club ‘sticking together’, with his comments posted on Twitter by the club’s official account.
Here’s how some fans reacted…
All we do is play defensively then hoof the ball up the pitch to no one, like against city. Coyr

“Keep moving forward” – you’re going backwards currently.

Never doubted your commitment to the team… But that should be an absolute minimum for whole squad… 🤔🤔

Less well-meaning waffle, less PR spin, more guts and basic skills, thank you.

How many times have we heard this sort of thing? Actions speak louder than words. 3 points on Saturday would be a start. COYR ⚽️
