Southampton forward set to depart St Mary’s as Koeman begins summer revamp

juanmii9922The Southampton fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that one of their players has left the club.

Reports in Spain via Talksport are reporting that Juanmi has left the Premier League side to join Real Sociedad for £2 million.

The striker only made the move to St Mary’s last summer for a fee of £5 million from Malaga, but has failed to show any of the form that persuaded Ronald Koeman to spend that amount on the player.

He made just 13 appearances for the Premier League side last season and failed to score in any of them.

It appears that the club are keen to cut their losses and get an alternative in and the move back to Spain for the striker suits both parties, and Ronald Koeman looks to revamp his side next season.

The Southampton fans in The Tavern are pleased to see the Spaniard leave the club as they were not at all impressed with his performances, but wish him well at his new club.

Our landlord here in the Tavern thinks this a move that suits all parties involved, as it is clear that Juanmi is not a man who is in at the forefront of Ronald Koeman’s first-team plans.
