Southampton did not manage to bring any new players into the club in January, although it appears they did try and get a deal done in the winter.
According to a report by L’Equipe, via Sport Witness, The Saints made an approach to Paris Saint-Germain about bringing Colin Dagba on loan until the end of the season.
However, Thomas Tuchel declined that offer and gave the right-back his first taste of Champions League football in midweek against Manchester United.
The 20-year-old has had rather limited opportunities at the Parc des Princes this season, as he has made just four starts in seven appearances across all competitions.
However, it would seem that the Ligue One giants hold him in high regard and are keen to see him continue his development with them.
Ralph Hasenhuttl made a number of changes to his Southampton squad in the winter transfer window, although they were mainly to trim his squad done and offload some of the players he deemed surplus to requirements.
One of those men to leave was Cedric Soares, and Dagba could have been an excellent temporary replacement for the Portugal international.
However, The Saints failed to bring him to the south coast, whilst the 20-year-old will now want to try and play more for the French powerhouse.
