Southampton just haven’t been able to ensure consistency in the current campaign as they continue to take a step backwards under Mark Hughes.
The Saints will have to start thinking about relegation if they aren’t careful, with a poor start putting them in a worrying position at this early stage. Although, it appears as if the club have already identified a potential managerial change, as according to the Express, Southampton have identified Leonardo Jardim as Mark Hughes’ replacement.
Southampton have already identified the man to replace Hughes if the Welshman’s efforts to revive the club fail.
Former Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim has come onto the Saints radar with Hughes having secured just one win in the Premier League this season from eight games
Indeed, the Saints have lost the last three without scoring to slip to 16th in the table, just two points above the relegation zone.
So, if results continue to go against Hughes he could find himself out of job in no time at all.
There’s no doubt that Mark Hughes has helped the club since joining last season, but you struggle to see how they can progress under his guidance in the current campaign.
Indeed, Leonardo Jardim has been able to develop some of the world’s hottest topics in recent years at AS Monaco, so it comes as no surprise that the Saints are attracted to his services.
