Southampton will be desperate to climb out of the relegation zone but things aren’t looking promising as games against Arsenal and Man United are on the horizon.
The Saints have been rather impressive since the Austrian took charge at St Mary’s but their current league position doesn’t really suggest that, so they’ll be keen to improve even more.
Interestingly, it appears as if the Saints are eyeing a possible summer swoop, as according to Goal.com, Southampton are keen on signing Nantes’ Enoch Kwateng.
It’s understood that Southampton and Watford sent delegates to watch the full-back during Nantes’ 1-0 defeat to Monaco on Saturday.
Kwateng operates predominately on the right of a back four but can also operate in the centre and at left-back.
He’s been extremely impressive in France in the current campaign and he’s only 21 years of age, with pretty much the whole of his career ahead of him, so a summer swoop seems like a good idea for the Saints.
Enoch Kwateng, who is valued at £4.5 million (by Transfermarkt), has established himself as one of the most promising full-backs in Ligue 1 this season, with a move to the Premier League being just reward.
The Saints could definitely do with cover on the right-hand side of the defence as Yan Valery has been Hasenhuttl’s only real option, with Cedric Soares currently on loan at Inter Milan.
