Southampton will feel confident that they can avoid the drop in the current campaign, as Ralph Hasenhuttl has already worked wonders at St Mary’s.
The Saints could still do with bringing in at least one player to help add add more depth to their current squad, with injuries inevitably coming into play in what will be a long, tiring season.
Although, it looks as if Ralph Hasenhuttl is aiming to build for the future, as according The Daily Mail (print edition, page 122, Sunday, January 27, 2019) (via HITC), Southampton are interested in Luca Connell.
It’s understood that the Saints are interested in Bolton Wanderers’ Luca Connell, but the youngster is claimed to cost around £1 million.
However, Brighton and Hove Albion and Burnley are also thought to be interested.
Indeed, with the Wanderers currently in financial trouble, they now have to decide whether to cash in on Connell.
Interestingly, the 17-year-old is very highly-rated and he’s able to operate in midfield or defence.
Luca Connell is a very impressive youngster who has been tipped for a bright future, having impressed in the youth ranks at Bolton this season. And, he managed to make his first Bolton start on Friday night and set up their goal in a 2-1 FA Cup fourth round defeat at Bristol City.
Southampton have a good track record of developing youngsters, so he could potentially be their next star.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
