Ralph Hasenhuttl appears to look to the youth to lead the way at whichever club he has managed and it does not seem to have changed at Southampton.
The Austrian manager has given the likes of Yan Valery, Kayne Ramsey, Michael Obafemi and Callum Slattery all a chance to show what they can do in the first-team.
And, it appears that one of his next transfer targets is another youngest that could have a bright future in football.
According to a report by Foot Mercato, Jordan Halaimia is one that has attracted Southampton on a number of occasions.
The Premier League outfit, along with Fulham, Sampdoria and Sporting Braga, are all believed to have watched the 18-year-old centre-back in action for AS Saint-Etienne’s Under-19s a several number of times.
However, they could find it difficult to convince the teenager to join them, as he is understood to be waiting for a professional contract from his current club.
Although not too much is known about Halaimia, the information available on him appears to put him in a positive light and suggests he could be an excellent centre-back in the future.
However, as the report also suggests, it would seem that he is not all too convinced on leaving Saint-Etienne at the moment and will likely extend his stay with them if he were to get what he wants.
With plenty of interest in him, it will be interesting to see if there are any more developments regarding Southampton and the player’s future.
