Southampton have struggled to find the back of the net on a regular basis in the Premier League this season.
The Saints were held to a goalless draw with south coast rivals Bournemouth at the weekend, and with fixtures coming thick and fast, things do not look great for the St. Mary’s Stadium outfit.
Mark Hughes’ side have netted just six goals and it has become obvious that there has been a real lack of creativity from the team.
It is likely the club will look to add some flair to the side in the January transfer window and it appears that they may have identified a potential target.
The 23-year-old is highly-rated and has been impressive for Genk this season in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League.
A winger, Trossard has a real eye for goal, having netted 15 times already this year, with seven of his tally coming just in the last five games.
Trossard has been putting in a number of impressive displays in Belgium and it is likely that he will be on the move soon.
Southampton should look to do all they can to try and bring him to the Premier League in the winter, as he could be vital to their efforts of remaining in the top-flight once again.
The winger would certainly offer the creative flair and spark the Saints have so clearly been lacking in recent memory and could be the man to offer them the chances needed to finally get some goals on the scoresheet.
