According to the Daily Express, cash rich Southampton are to up their offer for Celtic stopper Fraser Forster after the Hoops’ Champions League disaster against Legia Warsaw in midweek.
The south coast club have already had a £4 million bid for the England international turned down this summer with Celtic keen to keep hold of their number one.
But the Scottish giants’ chances of progressing in the Champions League this season have hit a major wall having gone down 4-1 to Legia Warsaw earlier this week.
That comes as a major blow to Forster who believes that good performances in the Champions League will cement him in England manager Roy Hodgson’s future plans.
Southampton have made it clear that Forster is their top target this summer but he will not come cheap as Celtic will be fully aware of the amount of cash that Saints have at their disposal this summer.
