Ralph Hasenhuttl is yet to make an addition to his Southampton squad this January as the window’s deadline fast approaches.
The Austrian manager has managed to get the best out of his side since arriving at the beginning of December and things have turned around.
However, there will be a sense that The Saints will still need to improve in certain areas, and it appears Hasenhuttl has identified a left-back to help them achieve that.
According to The Mirror (25 January, page 59), via HITC Sport, Southampton are believed to have joined the race for Rogerio.
The Brazil Under-20 international, who is currently on loan at Sassuolo from Juventus, has already attracted the interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Still only 21-years-old, the full-back has put in a number of impressive performances for the Serie A outfit, making him one of the brightest prospects in the game.
Bringing Rogerio could be a great move for Southampton this winter, as he has excelled for Sassuolo this season.
The 21-year-old would clearly fit the mould that Hasenhuttl likes to adopt by using young players in his system.
However, with the likes of Ryan Bertrand and Matt Targett already in the side, it comes as a surprise that the club are looking for a left-back.
