Southampton have not been enjoying a good run of form and everyone associated with the club will be concerned if they don’t start picking up results soon.
Mark Hughes and his team got off to a good start as they looked lively in attack and stable in defence but recently results have not gone their way and it seems they’re now looking down rather than up.
They spent a considerable amount of money over the summer but nevertheless they still need more attacking edge to their play and that could be assisted by the January addition of Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira.
Pereira, who is valued at £5.4 million on Transfermarkt, has this season been given a chance at Manchester United although given their current predicament, it’s unlikely they will call upon someone with not as much experience as some of the more established players have.
That’s where Southampton should test the water and see whether they could strike a deal to sign the Brazilian.
The 22-year-old impressed on-loan with Valencia last season and provided five assists and a goal during his time with the Spanish club. Playing anywhere from attacking midfield to out on the wing, Pereira is a player you could rely on for producing a spark, a game-winning moment and with the right coaching, he could be a real asset to a team like Southampton.
Players such as Stuart Armstrong and Mohamed Elyounoussi are still adjusting to life in the Premier League and whilst Andreas Pereira doesn’t have much English experience, his ability has already proven him to be a worthwhile addition for Southampton and one they must consider in January.
