Fans react to Danny Ings’ role in bizarre opener during Southampton v Burnley

Several fans have been reacting to Burnley’s bizarre opener against Southampton and the role Danny Ings played in it during the Clarets’ 2-1 win at St. Mary’s.
Sean Dyche’s men scored the fastest away goal in Premier League history after Ashley Westwood registered directly from a corner less than two minutes in. The ball fired in by the 29-year-old found its way into the home side’s net after Ings, defending at the near post, practically ducked out of the way.
Supporters have since been reacting, with one referring to Ings as “Agent Ings” given his history with Burnley. Another, meanwhile, questioned what the goalkeeper was doing.
Whatever the case, Ings can easily be forgiven. Although it was in vain in the end, the England international managed to make up for his blunder when he converted past Nick Pope in what has been a brilliant season overall for him.
It was the ex-Liverpool man’s 15th goal of the league campaign, leaving him well on course to reach the 20-goal mark.
