Fans want to see Southampton’s Danny Ings in England squad for Euro 2020

Plenty of fans are hoping to see Southampton striker Danny Ings in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020.

The 27-year-old was arguably at fault for the first goal his side conceded yesterday in their 2-1 defeat to Burnley. However, he rectified his error when he put the ball into Nick Pope’s net to equalise and grab his 15th goal in the Premier League this season.

Indeed, it is a brilliant tally, with only Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero (16) and Jamie Vardy (17) of Leicester City managing to achieve better. Those 15 goals scored this term have also left Ings as the highest scoring England international with Vardy effectively retired — no surprise one supporter described him as a “quality” player.

Does Danny Ings deserve an England recall?

Marcus Rashford is slightly behind with 14, Tammy Abraham is on 13 and Harry Kane registered 11 before picking up that serious injury. It perhaps leaves Ings in England contention, especially with the injury concerns surrounding Rashford and Kane.
