The Saints will really be hoping to fix up sooner rather than later after an average start has rapidly gone downhill game by game.
Southampton have just the one win during the Premier League so far and considering how much money they spent over the summer, they would have been wanting more from their team.
Again it seems to be that in attack, they’re having most of their problems but that can easily be amended with the January transfer window not too long away.
A player that is more than comfortable to play on either wing or down the middle as a second striker is Celta Vigo’s Pione Sisto, a player Southampton have admired many times before.
Sisto, (who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt) moved to Spain two years ago and has now fully adapted to the challenges of La Liga.
Last season the Danish winger really started to show what he is all about as he went on to provide 10 assists in the league, as well as netting five goals himself in what was a successful season.
This time around hasn’t been quite as successful yet, with just one goal and one assist to his name in eight games but regardless of his early season form, he is a player Southampton have to invest in.
Sisto packs electric pace and a strong physique that makes him a very hard player to defend against. Southampton right now don’t have a significant threat coming in from the wing as Nathan Redmond is too inconsistent and Mohamed Elyounoussi is still adapting to life in the Premier League.
There is nothing to say Pione Sisto will be an instant success but the 23-year-old is a frightening player on his day and could make a brilliant signing for Southampton.
