Re-uniting Hasenhuttl and Bruma makes sense for Southampton

Re-uniting Hasenhuttl and Bruma makes sense for Southampton

Southampton fans are desperately hoping that their new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl can provide the injection needed to get these players performing once again.

Having merely survived relegation last season by just three points, it already seems that this season will be a repeat of that very scenario if they’re lucky.

Southampton have not been performing well on the pitch and consequently find themselves occupying 19th position in the Premier League.

Things need to change and drastically fast if the Saints are to salvage their season and with the January transfer window soon to open, a big opportunity is presenting itself.

The need for a winger is a big one and someone who could provide more chances in front of goal is RB Leipzig attacker Bruma.

Bruma, who is valued at £11.2 million on Transfermarkt, is a very dynamic winger that would be a strong statement of intent from the new boss.

Considering that Hasenhuttl brought Bruma to RB Leipzig during his time there, the pair could again link up for the benefit of another team in Southampton.

Nathan Redmond along with summer signing Mohamed Elyounoussi have not been good enough, as neither of them are yet to register a single goal in the Premier League this season.

Whilst Bruma has two goals and two assists to his name, he also has a greater impact beyond the stats, making brilliant runs and being a constant nuisance for defenders to come up against.

With electric pace, Southampton’s front-line could be transformed with the addition of the Portuguese international and their relegation woes may be no more.

Do you agree that Ralph Hasenhuttl should turn to his former player… Let us know!
