Southampton fans have been eagerly awaiting to see how and when Claude Puel spends the millions that the Saints have to spend after another string of big money departures this summer. Well, news has made it’s way through the doors here that has caught the interest of our South Coast punters.
According to reports in The Sun, Claude Puel is considering a move for Malaga midfielder, Recio in order to bolster the midfield options in his Saints side.
The 24-year-old is rated at £5m by the Spanish side, and is thought to also be a target for the former boss at St. Mary’s, Ronald Koeman.
The South Coast club have made upwards of £60m with the sales of Sadio Mane, Victor Wanyama and Graziano Pelle this summer and will need to re-invest wisely to continue their progression and compete in the Europa League next season.
The defensive midfielder would become the third first team summer signing for Puel’s side having already brought in Nathan Redmond from Norwich and Pierre-Emerik Hoijbjerg from Bayern Munich.
Saints fans, we want to hear from you! What do you know about the man from Malaga? Would you rather your club went after bigger names instead of looking for cheap investments? Let us know below…
