Things aren’t looking good for Southampton Football Club at the moment.
Will Ralph Hasenhuttl walk away from Southampton?
Having lost their crucial six-pointer against Everton on Saturday, the south coast club lie second from bottom in the Premier League heading into the international break, four points from safety.
Saints have not won a match on home soil since April, while they have only managed two victories from their opening 12 league games this term.
Saturday’s defeat came in familiar circumstances: sloppy defensive errors and a lack of concentration. For both of Everton’s goals, Tom Davies and Richarlison found themselves unmarked at the back post unmarked.
A large part of the blame, of course, lies with the manager; it always will do in football but with a squad of players proving inept, there is an overwhelming feeling among supporters of the club that most of Saints’ shortfallings this term aren’t really the Austrian’s fault.
A lack of investment and support from the board has also been cited as a huge reason why Southampton have gone from a top-10 side battling for a spot in the Europa League, to a team who find themselves among the favourites for the drop each term, as discussed by these fans on Twitter:
The board and owners haven’t got the support of any fans. We can change the manager, and keep changing the manager, but the structure and investment at the club is non existent to support the football team. They’re not interested in the football.

The owner and the board are the root of the problems. Their sell sell policy and inadequate replacements. Unless they are going to spend in Jan we are gone simple then he can watch his investment plummet as we won’t have the premiership money. #gaoout

Good to hear, I want new recruits not another new manager, Ralph can’t get more out of this shower of 💩 squad than they are capable of, KL, Chairmen Gao, the board and the players take most of the blame for me #saintsFc

I hear that the board are losing the support of the fanbase due to what appears to be no ambition, direction or clue about football. #GaoOUT
