Southampton: Fans desperate for Che Adams to stay as Leeds circle

Some Southampton fans have made it clear that they want Che Adams to remain at the club this month.
The 23-year-old is currently being linked with a move to Leeds United, with The Athletic reporting that the Southampton board are open to letting him go despite Ralph Hasenhuttl’s desire to keep him. That has not pleased supporters, which might come as a surprise to some.
After all, Adams has really struggled this season, failing to score a single goal in the Premier League. It seems, though, that his overall game has not been overlooked, with one fan quick to highlight how well he has linked up with Danny Ings following the assist he provided for the 27-year-old’s strike in the 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Averaging just 0.5 key passes per Premier League game (via WhoScored), though, Adams still has work to do on the creative front, too.
Nevertheless, based on the above and the fact Adams has only recently joined from Birmingham City, plenty of Southampton fans believe he needs more time.
Take a look at what they had to say below…

This just seems mad. The whole reason our club has been in trouble because we spend millions on players who then get loaned out because they don’t settle/perform. Give Che time! If he does go, it has to be for the whole amount we paid.

Doesn’t seem unhappy when he is playing in a winning team.

He needs game time and with Ings could be lethal

He played well yesterday. Set up Ings goal and lovely back heel for Redmond to set up Ings again. Keep hold of him – he’ll work out just fine.

If true, (and that is a big if), that would be daft for so many reasons. He needs to be kept and coached. He showed in in yesterday’s game in that set up for the second goal how valuable he can be on the pitch. As stated before he seems to be happy when playing in a winning team
