Southampton: Fans discuss issues after Everton defeat

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s position as manager of Southampton was cast into further doubt on Saturday after the Hampshire club lost their early-season six pointer against Everton.
It was the worst possible start for the Saints at St Mary’s as the Toffees took the lead in the 4th minute through a Tom Davies header at the back post.
Can Moussa Djenepo rescue Southampton's season?
Yes

No

The hosts found a way back into the match, though, after leading goalscorer Danny Ings notched his seventh goal of the campaign, tapping home from close range to level things in the second-half.
However, Southampton were once again undone by some poor defending for the visitors’ winner. Winger Richarlison found himself unmarked with acres of space at the back post and latched onto a cross to place a well-taken shot past Saints ‘keeper Alex McCarthy to win things for his side.
Southampton’s search for a home win this season now continues, with many fans of the club taking to Twitter after the game to discuss exactly what is going wrong for them at the moment.
We do not have premier league centre backs, haven’t had any in years. Any good team is built from the back, too soft and too easy to score against. Formation changes hide it,but it will always come back to keeping ball out of our own net-not good enough #saintsfc

Ralph’s biggest problem is not playing a system that suits the players, playing players out of position, and changing formations / partnerships on a regular basis. He has to play a settled side and formation, with players in their right positions, or he deserves criticism.

I personally lay blame at both the players and manager. I thought yesterday’s line up was positive, 2 wing backs were supposed to get forward. We’ve tried the tested line ups with no change. At least he’s trying something different. Midfield is the issue. Bosses about to much.

I hope at the very least someone on the board asks him to explain yesterday’s tactical omnishambles. You can’t give full backing to any repeat of that nonsense.

Do we even have a board? Clubs a mess from top to bottom. Feel for Ralph, players have been pathetic and he has no support from above.

He needs URGENT help in the immediate coaching dept.
