Ralph Hasenhuttl's position as manager of Southampton was cast into further doubt on Saturday after the Hampshire club lost their early-season six pointer against Everton.

It was the worst possible start for the Saints at St Mary's as the Toffees took the lead in the 4th minute through a Tom Davies header at the back post.

The hosts found a way back into the match, though, after leading goalscorer Danny Ings notched his seventh goal of the campaign, tapping home from close range to level things in the second-half.

However, Southampton were once again undone by some poor defending for the visitors' winner. Winger Richarlison found himself unmarked with acres of space at the back post and latched onto a cross to place a well-taken shot past Saints 'keeper Alex McCarthy to win things for his side.

Southampton's search for a home win this season now continues, with many fans of the club taking to Twitter after the game to discuss exactly what is going wrong for them at the moment.
