Southampton: Fans flock to Dan Sheldon’s latest tweet

Many Southampton fans have been talking about the latest tweet from Dan Sheldon that recently emerged on social media.
The Athletic’s Southampton journalist Sheldon recently relayed an injury update ahead of the Saints’ upcoming Premier League tie against Fulham on Boxing Day. His tweet carried a quote from Ralph Hasenhuttl, who confirmed that Danny Ings, Jannik Vestergaard and Nathan Redmond haven’t trained ahead of the Boxing Day clash.
Will Southampton miss Vestergaard against Fulham?
Yes

No

This comes after Ings had to come off in Southampton’s recent Premier League game against Manchester City. It was confirmed that the Englishman had suffered a hamstring problem.
Vestergaard had played the full 90 minutes against Man City and had picked up a rather impressive rating. Redmond, on the other hand, had come on later in the game to replace Moussa Djenepo (as per Whoscored).
28-year-old Vestergaard has earned an overall rating of 7.27 in the Premier League this season and the defender has been the club’s second-highest performing player in the current league campaign (as per Whoscored).
Sheldon’s tweet about this injury update caught the attention of many Southampton fans, who began talking about the absentees.
What did Southampton make of this injury update from Hasenhuttl?
Ouch, Vestergaard did take a knock very late in the City match.

The one that concerns me most is Vestergaard. And who thought they’d ever be saying that? 😅 #saintsfc https://t.co/uFEz8RstRo

Could we finally see Salisu? 🤔

This shouldn’t be as scary as it used to be. We have cover, albeit not as tested or match ready but they’ve all been training to execute the same game plan. Salisu surely and a shuffle up top for Theo and Adam’s?
