Plenty of Southampton fans have had their say about Burnley midfielder Jack Cork and were astonished that he was not sent off during their 2-1 defeat to the Clarets on Saturday.
The 30-year-old left the St. Mary’s faithful scratching their heads in disbelief after a heavy challenge on Saints’ No. 18, a scissor tackle from behind went unpunished by referee Simon Hooper as Ralph Hassenhutll’s side slipped to their 13th defeat of the season. Ashley Westwood and Matej Vydra scored either side of half time that gave the visitors the win. Danny Ings netted his 15th Premier League goal of the season to equalise but it was not enough to get anything from the affair.
Lucy Grierson shared the tackle on Twitter (via @Locket23) who could not believe that Cork remained on the field. This started a chain reaction online and as a result, supporters were fuming. One fan described the tackle as shocking, while another stated that it was crazy but he was also not surprised at the same time.

Surely that’s a red?

Could have been a red, not even a yellow! Crazy, although with the standard of officiating in the @premierleague I am not surprised!

That’s a red all day long.

Shouod have been a red for the scissor tackle, once again let down by poor officiating and lack of VAR!!!
