Southampton: Fans on Nathan Redmond after derby win

Nathan Redmond is slowly returning to fitness following the ankle injury that ruled him out of two of Saints’ Premier League fixtures at the end of August and start of September.
The England international was absent for the club’s games against Manchester United and Sheffield United but featured off the bench against Bournemouth last Friday.
He was again introduced from the sidelines on Tuesday evening, during Southampton’s EFL Cup thumping of local rivals Portsmouth, and found the back of the net in emphatic style to make it 4-0 to the visitors at Fratton Park.
The 25-year-old looked sharp considering the quality of his goal and is now surely in contention to start this weekend’s clash against Tottenham, and should certainly be full of confidence if he does after his impressive cameo against Pompey in midweek.
Southampton fans have been full of praise for the former Norwich man on Twitter, with many quick to congratulate him on his goal and performance in a game that meant so much to supporters of the club:
What a baller, please never leave Nathan, thanks 🥰

Bit of a shaky start but once the team got to grips with the conditions there was only ever going to be one winner, great goal Nathan.
