Southampton: Fans react to injury update as three players ruled out of Aston Villa clash

Southampton have confirmed that they will be without a trio of players for their Premier League fixture against Aston Villa this weekend.
Sofiane Boufal, Nathan Redmond and new signing Kyle Walker-Peters will all miss the match, which is a huge blow for manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
According to Radio Solent reporter Adam Blackmore, Boufal hasn’t trained all week with a heel problem which will keep him out, whilst Walker-Peters has a calf injury. The prognosis for Redmond is significantly worse though, with the journalist claiming he will be out for an “indeterminate time.”
As mentioned, Walker-Peters only joined the club recently having arrived on loan from Spurs in January and he was expected to fill the void at right-back left by Cedric who joined Arsenal, so losing him for this match is a blow.
Redmond being out for a period is also bad news for the Saints, he has been in decent form of late with two assists and a goal in his last three appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Many Southampton fans have been reacting to the injury update and naturally, most are disappointed with the news. Meanwhile, some criticised the club for not signing enough players in January, indeed Walker-Peters was their only new arrival (Transfermarkt). Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
Oh great.

Oh great 😟 last thing we need at the moment. Villa will be optimistic particularly as Mings may be back this weekend!

Oh great. Why can’t our players stay fit!!! Wheels coming off at the wrong time. Play well for a few games and lose, then play poorly and lose. A worrying theme developing without the need for a monster injury list. Hopefully the weather will force a postponement

Imagine having a fit right back, could never be my club
