Southampton fans react to Mario Lemina PSG links - Southampton

Southampton supporters have been in fine voice in recent times after seeing their side record only their second Premier League victory of the season last weekend.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men went into their clash with high-flying Arsenal sat in the relegation zone having picked up just nine points from their opening 16 games, and facing the daunting prospect of hosting Unai Emery’s Gunners who were in the midst of a 22-match unbeaten run. Yet the Saints produced their best performance of the season to edge past the North London giants 3-2 at St Mary’s on Sunday, with a brace from Danny Ings and a Charlie Austin header inspiring the South Coast outfit out of the division’s bottom three.

As such, there have been many thrilled Southampton fans up and down the country in recent times, several of whom are likely to be interested in recent reports linking Mario Lemina with a £30 million move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The 25-year-old made the move to St Mary’s back in the summer of 2017 after a two-year stint at Juventus, and he has since gone on to become an important member of the squad at Southampton with 46 appearances for the club, 25 of which coming last term as they narrowly avoided Premier League relegation.

And with starts in 15 of their 17 league games this time round, the Gabon international again looks set for a pivotal role in the Saints midfield, that’s if they are able to fend off reported interest from Thomas Tuchel’s PSG, who are eyeing up the Saints man as a possible replacement for contract rebel Adrien Rabiot.

And news linking Lemina with a big money move away from St Mary’s has stimulated quite a response from many Southampton fans on Twitter, with several more than happy to sanction his departure in the New Year…
