Southampton remaining patient as long-running deal remains incomplete

Our Southampton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are getting excited about their upcoming EFL Cup final and are remaining confident over the deal for Martin Caceres with The Daily Echo’s latest report in mind.

The Saints face Manchester United in just over a week’s time in the showpiece at Wembley and our local Saints are looking forward to what could be a historic day in the club’s folklore.

They’ll be hoping their squad is in as good a shape as possible, too, and that should include having Martin Caceres being available.

The Uruguayan defender is thought to have agreed a deal to join the club but it has yet to go through with him having to travel to the South American country after the sudden death of his brother.

The Saints have given him time to take care of that situation, then, and remain hopeful that they could have him ready for the game at Wembley against Man United.

Our landlord certainly thinks he’ll be a good addition to the club – especially with their mounting defensive injuries at the moment.
